SAYVILLE, NY – Congressman Andrew Garbarino has filed for re-election after securing more than 14,000 signatures throughout the district, including over 13,000 signatures in support of his bid to once again gain the Republican nomination for New York’s 2nd Congressional District. The number required by the New York State Board of Elections to appear on the ballot for the June Primary is merely 1,250 signatures.
Additionally, Congressman Garbarino secured over 1,200 signatures to appear on the Conservative Party ballot, far above the number of signatures required.
“I am incredibly humbled by the overwhelming support I’ve received for my re-election campaign. I have and will continue to ensure that every decision I make while in Congress benefits our community, strengthens our economy, and enhances our national security,” said Congressman Andrew Garbarino. “This broad based grassroots endorsement from Long Island Republicans is proof that our message of results driven policy making is resonating. I am grateful for my supporters, especially the hundreds of Committee Members and volunteers who helped gather signatures, and for the leadership of Suffolk County GOP Chairman Jesse Garcia, Nassau County GOP Chairman Joseph Cairo, Suffolk County Conservative Party Chairman Michael Torres, and Nassau County Conservative Party Chairman Dan Donovan, without whom this would not have been possible. I look forward to continuing to build upon this momentum, securing the nomination, and retaking the Republican majority in the 118th Congress.”
Congressman Garbarino was first elected to Congress in 2020 in a hotly contested race to succeed retiring Congressman Peter King. The former private attorney and New York State Assemblyman is a member of the House Homeland Security and Small Business Committees. He resides in Bayport, NY.
